Today is the last show for 100DGs. They are playing Central Market and tons of friends are coming to say farewell. As a wife of a member of the band, it was an awesome experience. I love those guys and the wives to pieces. I'm going to miss it.
I wasn't sure that I could post about what I do on a daily basis since it involves court cases.
But I think I will just change the names to protect the innocent. I can still have an opinion, right?
Today I am subbing for a reporter who requests me when she's gone. Her judge is running for Supreme Court of Texas. And I don't know why, but I get so nervous filling in for her. I love being here & the rest of the staff is so nice to me. The judge kinda keeps me at arm's length and isn't super friendly. She's nice enough, don't get me wrong. She just doesn't have time to chit chat. Which I get, she's a busy woman. My stomach just gets wonky when I have to be here. I just play it cool like I'm fine and comfortable.
We'll see how it goes! *fingers crossed*

I've been super busy with work. So busy that I'm going to have David be my scopist. He's pretty excited about it. That is going to be such a big help for me. And with my firm losing two reporters in the last month, I have been moved up on the food chain & been getting some pretty sweet gigs.
My family is getting hit with some pretty hard news. My grandmother has cancer that has spread to her liver and they are giving her two to three months. My cousin went into a diabetic coma last week & came out of it, to our surprise. However she needs to get a liver transplant in the next month because they are only giving her two months. And Larry is almost done with month one of his two month experimental treatment for his cancer that has also spread to his liver.
And with all of this going on Dave and I have decided to start a family. We're really excited about it and I just know that David is going to be an awesome dad.

This last work week was great!
Monday, I got fingerprinted for grand jury. They will do a background check and then I'll be all clear. Yay!
Friday, a visiting judge who I sat for last week told the court reporter that he really liked me. So the court reporter requested me to fill in for her! I'm not going to lie, that made me feel pretty awesome!

Utah was awesome! Seeing the Harmons & the Olivers was fantastic!
Today my depo canceled but then my office called me & told me that the visiting judge in the 360th said he liked me, so the court reporter requested me to sub for her tomorrow. That's pretty awesome. I have a mini depo to work on today & some transcripts to grade.
Dave's parents are in Hawaii again & Dave is having to work the rodeo for his dad. It's a lot of work. And to top it off we had a huge summer storm roll through at about 3 a.m. Winds were up to 70mph & it's a mess outside.
Better get to work.

I subbed for a court reporter yesterday & it was a big deal. Well I had no idea how BIG of a freking deal it was. Oi!
I was in Mag today and this reporter came down and asked me for things in a panic, and that is putting it mildly. She held my hands and looked deep into my eyes and said how I should "never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever leave with exhibits." wtf? If you had left me ANY instructions I would have known. Never mind that I had them with me & left her a note saying that I wasn't sure what to do with them & would be in the building the next day with the exhibits and wanted to talk to her. She interrupted me while I was in Magistrate Court. Crazy X one million. I was embarrassed that she even felt compelled to hold my hands and talk to my soul. Michele, my office manager, made me feel better saying that veterans sometimes forget what it's like to be green. She did say I was a nice sea foam green. I love her!
The folks in Mag totally take care of me. They made me feel better & we went to Santos for lunch where we had fried chicken. This place has no menu. Only opened Wed-Fri for lunch & you eat what he's making. He's kinda a big deal with some higher ups in FTW. There are signed pics of them all over & it's an old house turned into a restaurant and I say restaurant loosely. One table and six booths and an old cigarette machine with the price at $2.25. It's so awesome.
Now my husband is passed out and it's 7:06pm on a Thursday. I love him.

I'm working nonstop. Which is awesome. My firm finds me at least two jobs a week & I still have that online gig. So between the two, I'm a workhorse. I love my job! It's the bee's knees. I got my very own office key & I've been paid twice. I actually have tomorrow off from both jobs. I can't wait.
Today I did a Sexually Oriented Business committee. Yes, an S.O.B. hearing. It was awesome. I got to swear in witnesses for the first time as a licenced court reporter. I also admitted exhibits. Totally rad.
Friday night we celebrated Paul's Birthday at Byblos a Lebanese restaurant. It was deelicious food, good friends, and belly dancing.
Saturday night, Dave had a show in the Stockyards. It was an amazing night for them. Couples were dancing and a lot of friends that we haven't seen a few years.
And this morning, TWO baby goats! Yup, Annie had her babies last night. They are freakin' adorable!
